First meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-Ended Expert Group on Marine Litter and Microplastics
The Ad Hoc Open Ended Expert Group was established in response to UNEP/EA.3/Res.7 Marine Litter and Microplastics.
The first meeting was held in United Nations, Nairobi, Kenya from 29 to 31 May 2018. It was attended by 266 participants, representing 72 member States, 9 intergovernmental organizations and 28 observers representing major groups and stakeholders accredited to the United Nations Environment Assembly of the United Nations Environment Programme.
Travel support was granted in priority to representatives from the Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States.
